Clothes bus hands out winter gear to needy

Posted

Just in time for some of the coldest temperatures of the season, a local church will debut its mobile clothing pantry to help Buffalo's needy populations get the winter gear they need to stay warm.

Beginning Tuesday morning, volunteers from True Bethel Baptist will take the bus on the streets of Buffalo, handing out gloves, hats, and other items to people who are out in the cold.

The former school bus was purchased by the church, gutted and renovated into a mobile clothing pantry.  Although all of the interior design is not complete, the cold weather has motivated the church to put the bus in service.

Clothes will be given out on bus stops and streets where the need is seen.
