City officials confirm, Buffalo water is safe for drinking

City officials announced drinking water in the City of Buffalo is lead-free and safe to drink for people and their pets after a series of tests came back negative.

In light of national concern sparked by the lead crisis in Flint, Michigan, Test America, a private company, was hired to test the quality of city water and to ensure that all procedures and standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency were met.

Despite these results, Mayor Brown insists that taking precautionary measures is important moving forward to ensure that people's lives are not at risk and that the City continues to provide safe, clean and usable water to all residents.

Moving forward, water tests will be done annually. However, if you are interested in getting your water tested at anytime all you have to do is dial 311.
