If you live in the Olean area and have some time to volunteer, you can help out your neighbors by doing some shoveling.

The City of Olean is compiling a list of volunteers who can help elderly and disabled citizens with shoveling and ice removal this winter.  Anyone who would like to help out can contact the mayor's office at 376-5615.

Olean Mayor William Aiello says the city has traditionally kept a list of volunteers who could lend a hand to neighbors.  In the past the list has included students from local schools and people from different churches.  He added that anyone could add their name to the list of people who would like to help the homebound or people on a fixed income.
