Two days after a close race for re-election in New York's 27th Congressional District, Representative Chris Collins sat down with Ed Drantch. Topics included his challenger Nate McMurray's demand for a recount and his relationship with the media.

Click the video above to watch a 10-minute excerpt of the interview. While the interview is not posted here in its entirety, none of Collins' answers were shortened. Entire questions with answers were omitted to focus on the 2018 election and Collins' allegations of media bias.

Nate McMurray's comments following his call for a recount can be viewed here.

The following statement was issued by the Higgins for Congress campaign in response to Collins' comments on Representative Brian Higgins in this interview:

Congressman Higgins regularly makes himself available to meet with the public, speak to the news media, and otherwise appear openly and transparently throughout Western New York.  Brian participated in five public candidates’ events in the leadup to this year’s election including events hosted by: the Western New York Chapter for the Alliance of Retired Americans, the Good Government Club, the Developmental Disabilities Alliance of Western New York, the Amherst Senior Center and the League of Women Voters.  When invited previously Brian has also accepted invitations to candidate debates hosted by local media, block clubs and in 2014, upon invitation, was proud to participate in the annual St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute candidates’ debate.
