The Save the Western New York Children's Psychiatric Center Coalition is calling for an investigation into Governor Andrew Cuomo.
The coalition wants State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli to probe the governor's actions surrounding his push to close the WNY Children's Psychiatric Center in West Seneca.
Lawmakers recently voted unanimously against closing the facility and merging it with the Buffalo Psychiatric Center but Governor Cuomo vetoed the bill. Many argue the move would put children at risk. Governor Cuomo claims children would be kept separate from the adult patients an the move would save the state money.
The coalitions attorney claims the Governor's actions "violate New York Mental Hygiene Law."
The coalition says parties close to the situation claim Governor Cuomo is now pressuring lawmakers to allow the closing of the facility.
