A man is in custody following the murder of a mother and her seven year-old son in Cheektowaga.

Shane Stevenson, 31, pleaded not guilty in Cheektowaga Town Court Friday morning to two counts of second-degree murder.

Police say he killed 30 year-old Raina Voll and her son, Leo Klinger, inside their apartment at the Kingswood Apartment Complex on French Road Thursday night.

The investigation began when police found the victim's two year-old child in a stroller at the corner of Union and Losson.

That child was unharmed and is now with his biological father. Police say Stevenson is also not the biological father of the victim's seven year-old son.

The suspect had a relationship with the children's mother, but police have not elaborated on a possible motive. Investigators are also not saying how the victims were killed.

Voll worked as a server at the Olive Tree Restaurant on Broadway since 2012. Co-workers last saw her on Tuesday. They describe her as a "great employee and a loving mom." Her son Leo attended Cayuga Heights Elementary School in Depew.

Stevenson is being held at the Erie County Holding Center without bail.

The investigation is currently ongoing with assistance from the Erie County District Attorney's office.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family of Leo Klinger. You can link to it here.
