Cheektowaga man arrested in supermarket robbery

Lancaster police have arrested a Cheektowaga man in connection with an armed robbery at the Tops Express on Transit Road.

Officers say 46-year old Frank Schupp was wearing pantyhose over his head, showed off a knife, and demanded cash from the clerk just before 7pm Saturday night.

Investigators were able to track down information and locate the vehicle used in the robbery to an address on Harmony Lane in Cheektowaga.

Police arrested Schupp on the spot.

He is being charged with robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, and criminal possession of stolen property.

Schupp will be arraigned in Town of Lancaster Court.
