Charlotte Police Officer Christopher Frunzi, can be seen on the viral video hugging Ken Nwadike Jr., who is in the Free Hugs movement. The video so far has 26 million views and continues to grow.
Officer Frunzi, on his way back to Buffalo Friday night took some minutes from his time to FaceTime with 7 Eyewitness News.
"I always tell people all the time - it doesn't matter what your color is, your color of your skin, we all have the same color blood at the end of the day," said Frunzi over FaceTime. "And I just hope one day there will be peace. If we don't stand together, we will fall apart."
Officer Frunzi added that he had to dodge rocks while trying to keep peace in Charlotte. He said the free hug meant a lot to him and his officers.
