A Grand Island woman is one of many Western New Yorkers to bike in the hopes of curing disease...but she's not staying close to home to do it.

In fact - she'll be just over a thousand miles from home when she hops on her bike seat tomorrow morning.

The Ride to Cure Diabetes will get started in Amelia Island, Florida tomorrow morning.

And Bethany Bernatovicz will bike *100 miles* for her nephew Jay Kuehmeier.

13 years ago he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at Children's Hospital in Buffalo.

There are 6 rides happening across the country.

Each rider has to bike 100 miles in a single day...

As of this morning she's about 85% of the way to her fundraising goal...
