Buffalo Police are investigating an incident involving a stolen vehicle with a young child inside.

Police tell 7 Eyewitness News that officers were called to the scene in the 100 block of Central Avenue around 1:30 p.m. after reports that a four-year-old boy was inside a stolen vehicle.

Investigators say the child's mother left the running vehicle parked in a driveway, while moving garbage totes. The suspect then jumped in and took off with the child still inside.

Witnesses say the mother and another individual got in another vehicle and chased after the car.

The vehicle was located a short time later near Lewis Street and William Street. The child was located in the vehicle and was unharmed.

Police say the suspect is still outstanding at this time.

Anyone with information is urged to call police.
