UPDATE: Police investigation revealed 47-year-old William H. Ferguson of Hilton, NY exited his vehicle and ran into westbound traffic for unknown reasons.
Ferguson was struck and killed.
The accident was reconstructed by the NYS Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.
Original: State Police say a pedestrian was struck by a car Saturday night along the New York State Thruway in Pembroke.
The accident happened in the west bound lanes.
Troopers say the victim suffered serious injuries, but no other information is available.
