United Memorial Medical Center (UMMC) joined the Rochester Regional Health System (RRHS) less than a year ago. The partnership has already given birth to the Lipson Cancer Institute at UMMC in Batavia.

"It has a big impact for the patients," said Daniel Ireland the President of UMMC. "Prior to now to get some of this comprehensive cancer care people would have to travel to Buffalo and Rochester."
Going through cancer treatment can be very difficult but this new center is closer for those in the Genesee region.
