The start of Holy Week in Buffalo means the start of the pre-Easter rush at the Broadway Market.

Western New Yorkers flock to the spring staple to score goods like sausage, colorfully-decorated eggs, pussywillows, and butter lambs to have at their Easter tables.

"We bring on so many extra workers," said Michelle Lupas of Lupas Meats. "From the minute the doors open we are packed, calling numbers all day. And we have one more week of this."

The Broadway Market is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Wednesday, and will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Holy Thursday and Good Friday.  The last chance to shop before Easter is on Holy Saturday when the Market is open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Market is closed on Easter Sunday.

Want to feel the excitement of the rush from the comfort of your home? 7 Eyewitness News anchors Katie Morse and Ed Drantch will anchor 7 Eyewitness New at 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. live from the Broadway Market this Friday.
