New restaurant coming to former Dug's Dive

Posted at 9:40 AM, Dec 17, 2015

A new restaurant is coming to the former Dug's Dive, with plans to open next spring.

Safe Harbor Development, out of Tennessee, is now running the Small Boat Harbor and is bringing on longtime Buffalo restaurateur Chuck Goodspeed for the new restaurant, with an eye on eventually beginning year-round service.

Officials say Goodspeed plans to upgrade the kitchen and expand the patio while plans for the new restaurant, including what it will be called, are developed. The menu will include fresh seafood, flatbread pizza, build your own burgers, salads, sandwiches, a kid's menu, and daily specials. The restaurant will also be serving breakfast on the weekend.

Goodspeed ran the former Glass Abbey and Charlie O'Brien's and the current Brick Oven Bistro and The Mess Hall.

Safe Harbor says the new restaurant is just one of the $10 million in enhancements coming to the Small Boat Harbor, including upgrading the facilities, landscaping, WiFi and more that will be implemented over the next five years.
