A popular Canadian burger chain is set to open in Buffalo this February.

Hero Burger, which has dozens of locations north of the border, is opening its first U.S. location on Elmwood Avenue at Bidwell Parkway in the former Zetti’s Pizza.

On its website, Hero Burger says its focus is on making burgers from 100 percent Canadian Angus beef that has no additives, preservatives, hormones or antibiotics. The beef is certified Halal and only fed grasses, fodder and feeds with no animal by-products.

According to a post on the franchise’s Facebook page, the location at 976 Elmwood is slated to open on February 2.

Besides burgers, Hero Burger is known for its gourmet hot dogs, poutine, and milk shakes, as well as chicken, turkey and salmon sandwiches.
