Bridgestone is building a new facility in Niagara County, bringing 89 jobs to the area over the next five years.

The new $13.6 million, 65,000 square-foot manufacturing facility will be built on an 11-acre site in the Town of Wheatfield. The project will receive $1.2 million in Excelsior tax credits.

Montante Group, a WNY developer, will invest $6.5 million for the project in the Vantage International Point industrial park on Inducon Parkway. Bridgestone will leave the building and invest $7.1 million in machinery and equipment.

The company plans to use the facility to produce polyurethane foam used in car seats. Much of the product will be exported to Canada.

The facility is expected to open in the first quarter of 2017.
