University of Michigan men's basketball coach and Niagara County native John Beilein is recovering from double bypass surgery.
In a statement, Beilein says he's working hard to be "stronger than ever" by the time practice starts. The university says Beilein is expected to make a full recovery from heart surgery.
He took his team to the final game of the NCAA tournament last season. Michigan lost to Villanova. Beilein got his start coaching Newfane High School basketball.
