Burst pipe causing major problems in Buffalo nursing facility

Posted

Mary Agnes Assistive Living Residence experienced a water pipe burst early Thursday morning. It led to major water damage occurring in the ceiling, and effecting the 7th floor of the facility, which is the memory wing.

"It was just puddles and puddles... in every room" Laura Raska, who has a loved one in the facility, said.

7 Eyewitness News was allowed into the facility, where employees said they have been working on the pipe all day. During that time, they needed to shut off the water, which created a stench throughout the floor.

"They don't even have water access on the floor" Raska said.

The state of the floor made Raska question if she should be keeping her loved one in the residence, even for one night.

"I'm debating on even leaving him in there for the night." Raska said, "I can't sleep tonight knowing he's in this place."

7 Eyewitness News did make multiple attempts to officially speak with someone at Mary Agnes Assistive Living Residence, we were told they would be reaching out to us for an official statement on Friday morning. While on scene, many workers at the facility were yelling obscenities at the 7EWN crew.
