A Snyder family is lucky to have their home, after flames erupted Monday afternoon.
The fire broke out about 1:30 p.m. on Bernhardt Drive. Firefighters tell 7 Eyewitness News closing the basement door helped keep the fire contained and saved the house from being destroyed by flames.
They also say working smoke detectors helped minimize the damage.
Nobody was hurt.
Investigators are still searching for a cause.
