The Valley Community Association held its 24th Annual "Old Neighborhood" St. Patrick's Day Parade Saturday.
"No matter what the weather is, no matter what's going on, it's just great to see so many people out and doing stuff here especially in this area," Rachel Valvo said.
Thousands of people braved the cold to celebrate the holiday and didn't let the weather spoil their spirit or stop them from getting decked out in green.
"It's freezing," Jannaly Carlson said. "It's Buffalo, you've got to make sure you can have layers. So I have a t-shirt but I have a couple of other layers underneath and I'm good to go. I'm really warm."
The parade is a celebration of St. Patrick's Day and also serves as a way to bring this community closer together.
"To come downtown to the First Ward Parade, it is all about community," Laurabech Solomon said. "You have everyone from the local area gets together and hangs out on the corner, maybe with a couple adult beverages."
