The Buffalo Zoo's newest addition now has a name.
Earlier this year the Zoo asked Western New Yorkers to vote for one of several potential names for the baby gorilla. Kayin, which means "celebrated child," lead all names, receiving nearly 1,000 of the over 3,000 votes.
Kayin beat out names like "K.J." or "Koga Junior" after his father and "Mossaka" after the Republic of Congo.
Baby Kayin's name was announced during a ceremony designed to teach people about endangered animals in Africa, including the gorilla.
