Buffalo Zoo: Bring on the Jaguars!

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - Buffalo is psyched for Sunday's playoff match-up against the Bills.

And now, even the animals over at the Buffalo Zoo are getting involved ... sort of.

The Buffalo Zoo is teaming up with Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens for a friendly playoff wager.

The focus of this wager, giving back.

If the Bills win, Jacksonville will contribute to the North American Bison Coalition, in addition to supplying the Buffalo Zoo with chocolate-covered popcorn, a popular local delicacy.

If Jacksonville wins, the Buffalo Zoo will contribute to the Rupununi Wildlife Research Unit, as well as send sponge candy to Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.

According to Tony Vecchio, Executive Director of Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, "as a trained zoologist, it is clear to me that a jaguar would have no trouble taking down a bison."

But Norah Fletcher President/CEO of the Buffalo Zoo says, "A jaguar may be fast and cunning, but stands little chance against of well-built and winter hardy Buffalo."
