16-year old Katya, a Eurasian lynx that has been at the Buffalo Zoo for 8 years, has died.
The Buffalo Zoo announced the animal's death in a blog post on Wednesday.
According to the post, Katya was suffering from age-related organ failure and was euthanized on March 25.
Katya arrived at the Buffalo Zoo with her sister, Larissa, in 2008. The pair were moved to the Zoo's Arctic Edge exhibit last fall.
"Well-loved by Zoo visitors and staff alike, Katya will be truly missed. Larissa will remain on exhibit in Arctic Edge."
