Buffalo youth football team in need of funds to reach championship game

While most football fans had their eyes on Orchard Park for the Monday Night Football game, one team hit the practice field.

"It keeps them grounded, it keeps them focused" Letanya Washington, Upstate Falcons team mom said.

The team is the Upstate Falcons, a team filled with 5-7 year-old intercity kids. The team is a perfect 8-0 on the season and has outscored their opponents 179-31.

"We haven't bragged at all, and we always love a challenge" team center Kymani said.

Their perfect record has led to the team qualifying for the championship game in Florida. The only problem is, getting to Florida is expensive.

In order to help pay for the trip, the Upstate Falcons have started a GoFundMe page asking for $3,000.

"You always hear so many bad things coming from the City of Buffalo," Washington said, "This is something good."

To help the team reach their championship dreams, the link to the GoFundMe is here.
