A Buffalo teacher who stole from the bank account of her school's Parent Teacher Organization must perform 250 hours of community service within the next six months.

That's the sentence a Buffalo city court judge handed down Friday for 44 year-old Patti Nabinger.

Nabinger, a technology teacher at Buffalo Public School 43, pleaded guilty in February to attempted grand larceny. She admitted to stealing $3,530.82 from her school's PTO. Nabinger has since paid the money back.

Nabinger remains on administrative leave while the New York State Department of Education conducts its own investigation.
