Orchard Park Police were investigating a serious crash that happened on Southwestern Boulevard on Saturday when a driver ignored that the road was closed to traffic.
Police say 34-year-old Jennifer Marcussen of Buffalo drove around a blocker vehicle and cones and avoided shouts from the police to stop.
Authorities on the scene asked for the Buffalo resident to step out of the vehicle. However, she refused. Marcussen finally unlocked and opened her door after police say they threatened to break the windows, but she still refused to get out of the car. Police had to forcibly remove her from the vehicle.
Police administered a field sobriety test which Marcussen failed. She was then transported to the Mercy Ambulatory Care Center for a blood test.
Marcussen is charged with failure to obey a police officer, driving while ability impaired by drugs and obstructing governmental administration. She is scheduled to appear in Orchard Park Town Court on June 7th.
