A photo taken over the weekend of Buffalo Police officers helping a four-legged friend has been shared more than 3,000 times on Facebook.  It shows the officers giving dog food and treats to a homeless woman for her dog.

The photo was snapped by Kaitlyn McNamara Sunday at the Mobile gas station at Elmwood and Lexington.  McNamara says she was inside getting coffee when she saw the officers buying dog food and treats.  She walked outside to see them hand the treats and food over to the homeless woman sitting outside with her dog.

McNamara wrote in a Facebook post, "When they approached the woman, she immediately seemed nervous as if she might be getting in trouble. I don’t think I will ever forget the way her face lit up when the officers handed her the bags and asked to pet her dog."  McNamara said the moment brought tears to her eyes.
