Buffalo Police are investigating a possible attempted abduction near Massachusetts Avenue and Columbus Parkway on the city's west side.
The incident happened at approximately 6:45 am Monday morning. Officers say a 13 year-old girl was waiting at a bus stop when three males jumped out of a black four-door vehicle and began chasing her.
According to police, the suspects ripped the 13 year-old girl's jacket before she was able to run away.
According to the Charter School for Applied Technologies, the 13-year-old was a student there. The school says parents in the zip code and surrounding zip codes were notified of the attempt.
In a statement to 7 Eyewitness News, the school says "as always, the safety of our students remains a top priority. We are asking that parents speak to their children about strangers and be aware of their surroundings."
The statement from the school's website reads, in part:
"Please remind your children about stranger awareness and go over your expectations for what they should do if approached by a stranger. As always CSAT remains vigilant about the safety of our students."
