Buffalo Police are investigating a stranger danger alert involving a 14 year-old girl.

Police say the teen was approached by a man in a deep red minivan at Court and Pearl Streets who repeatedly asked the girl to talk to him and get into his van.

The man followed her to Huron Street before driving away when he entered a more crowded area.

The man is described as a chubby black male in his early to mid-30s wearing glasses and a short-sleeved shirt.

The teen was not hurt.

The Buffalo Public School District is reminding parents to have a conversation with children about their personal safety and the importance of reporting suspicious incidents involving strangers.
