Planning Board to vote on Deep South Taco

Posted

The City of Buffalo takes one step forward in opening up a Deep South Taco restaurant on Hertel Avenue in North Buffalo.

The Planning Board has been scheduled to vote on the project Monday evening.

Even though the proposal has received a lot of support, there have been a few bumps in the road. Some local residents have voiced concerns about traffic, parking and noise coming from the patio.

Due to those concerns, the Planning Board has delayed voting on the project in the last few weeks.

The owner, Richard Hamilton, told 7 Eyewitness News in February that after meeting with the community, he made some charges to its plans. Some residents have stated that their concerns have been alleviated.

The proposed Deep South Taco is in a special zoning district. That means the Buffalo Common Council has to review the plan. A publish hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 8th.
