A JD Power survey on airport satisfaction for 2016 ranks the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport second among medium sized airports in North America.
The report surveyed 38,931 airline travelers and asked about six main topics: terminal facilities; airport accessibility, security check; baggage claim; check-in/baggage check; and food, beverage and retail.
Out of a possible score of 1,000 points, BUF received 791 points. Indianapolis was ranked the #1 medium sized airport, scoring 794. Fort Myers/Southwest Florida, Jacksonville and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky round out the top five.
Many travelers arriving at the airport Friday were happy with what they saw.
"It seems very accessible, clean, well lighted," said Ryan Dennis, a Western New York native now living in Ireland.
Jacob White lives in North Carolina and was back visiting his hometown of Cheektowaga.
"Everything is clean. The people are all very nice."
Bill Irwin from Charlottesville, VA thinks the Buffalo-Niagara Airport is in a good location.
"Some airports just seem like they're way out of town," he said. "Here, you just get off the expressway and you're right at the airports. So it's really convenient."
