The Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park will kick off their season Saturday, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the arrival of both the USS Little Rock and USS The Sullivans.
The Opening Day Ceremony will posthumously honor three servicemen who were instrumental in bringing both ships to Buffalo's waterfront in 1977.
The families of Michael Bertini, Thomas Heilig and Leonard Sniadecki will receive Recognition Award Certificates, presented by Naval Park Board Chairman Donald A. Alessi.
The ceremony starts at 10 A.M.
