The U.S. Attorney's office announced today that 43-year-old Joshua Butler was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being convicted of possession of child pornography.

Also, Butler must pay $3,000 in restitution to victims as well as face 20 years supervised release.

According to the U.S. Attorney's office on April 13th, 2016 in state court, Butler was convicted of promoting a sexual performance by a child and sentenced to 10 years probation.

On July 19th, 2016, a county probation officer searched Butler's home and found two cell phones -- one phone contained over 300 images of child pornography as well as images of violence.

As a part of his probation, Butler was not allowed to have cell phones with Internet access.

Officials say some of the children in the images were under age 12.
