A Buffalo man has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for a deadly shooting inside a barbershop.

Luis Oliveras-Arvelo, 25, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in April in connection with the death of 29-year-old Juan Santiago.

Oliveras-Arvelo shot and killed Santiago inside a barbershop on Niagara Street in September of 2015.

Prosecutors say 10 minutes before the shooting, the victim threatened the defendant with a machete and the shooting appeared to be retaliation.
