Buffalo man sells fentanyl to undercover officer

A Buffalo man pleaded guilty Wednesday for selling powerful painkillers.

The DA's Office says Robert Smith, 29, of Buffalo pleaded to two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance for selling the powerful painkiller fentanyl.

According to officials, Smith sold fentanyl to an undercover State Police officer on January 26, 2016 and February 8, 2016.

Based on the undercover fentanyl sales, State Police obtained a warrant for 118 Gillette Street in Buffalo where Smith lives.

Smith faces a maximum of 15 years in prison. He will be sentenced on November 9.
