A judge has given the maximum prison sentence to a Buffalo man who claimed self-defense in the shooting death of another man.
Antone Herrod was sentenced Monday to 25 years to life in prison after being convicted in April of second-degree murder.
Herrod shot 24-year-old Christopher Pratt in 2014. Herrod was with his girlfriend at the time and prosecutors say the girlfriend identified Pratt as the person who'd shot her mother in 2012.
Herrod claimed self-defense, saying he believed Pratt was going to his car to get a gun. Police found no weapon in Pratt's vehicle.
