A Buffalo man faces drug and gun charges Friday, according to U.S. Attorney James Kennedy Jr.

38-year-old Leon Williams is charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and cocaine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.

Officials say law enforcement began investigating Williams distributing activities in September when investigators received information that he was distributing heroin from his home at 37 Texas Street in Buffalo.

On Wednesday police took Williams into custody as he exited a dry cleaner on Bailey Avenue. Officers then executed a search warrant and found small bags of off-white and brown powdery substance on the kitchen table.

Distributing tools such as scales and razor blades were found along with multiple firearms including a Glock 22 and a .40 caliber firearm, with the magazines full of ammunition. Over $70,000 in cash was also seized.

Williams could face up to life in prison and a $250,000 fine.
