Police in the City of Tonawanda have arrested a Buffalo man who they say crashed a stolen pizza delivery car Tuesday night.

Police say 22-year-old Zayvaughn Boutwell stole a vehicle at Delaware and Hodge in Buffalo at 10:30 p.m. and later crashed into a pole in Niagara Street at Franklin in the City of Tonawanda.

According to police, the vehicle was seen driving erratically on Niagara Street. Officers say Boutwell crashed when they tried to catch up. He then kicked out the side window and took off through yards off Niagara Street. He was later found in a tree in a backyard off Adam Street around 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, police say.

Authorities say Boutwell gave the officers a false name but it was later determined who he was.

Boutwell is being charged with driving a stolen vehicle, reckless driving, resisting arrest, criminal trespass, false personation and five traffic charges.
