An Eller Avenue home was condemned by city officials after a vehicle struck the building Wednesday night.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. at 136 Eller Avenue.

It appears a sports utility vehicle struck the home shearing off a gas meter.  It continued on striking a fence and another unoccupied car before stopping in the middle of the street.

The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries, but refused to be transported to the hospital.

Workers from National Fuel worked to stop a gas leak and other utilities were shut off to the home.

City officials surveyed the damaged and condemned the home early Thursday morning.  The home sustained an estimated $50,000 in damage.  It was unclear if the home will be demolished.

The occupants of the home made other living arrangements and declined the assistance of the Red Cross.
