The Buffalo Fire Department fought a fire overnight on first block of Rogers Street near the city border with the Town of Cheektowaga.
Reports of the fire came out around 3:15 a.m.
Arriving firefighters found heavy fire coming from the second floor of the two-story vacant house. The fire spread up and into the attic crawl space.
Crews battling the flames on the second floor reported that they encountered holes in floor.
No one was hurt.
It took nearly a half-hour to bring the fire under control.
Fire officials said the fire caused $40,000 in total damages.
The fire is under investigation.
