That’s how long Buffalo officials said it would take to fix a pothole if you make a complaint to 311. “Residents can call in and identify that they see a pothole around the city. Those go right to our crews, who are dispatched within 48 hours to go fill them,” said Buffalo City Engineer, Mike Finn.
The 311 pothole guarantee line has helped the city fill over one thousand potholes this year. But, weekend blitzes like the one Saturday, help the city keep up with repairs. “We also do the weekend blitzes, which gives us the opportunity to fill potholes when there’s less traffic on the roads,” said buffalo Mayor Byron Brown.
The mayor said the number of pothole calls is down from this time last year, and attributes the lower call volume to the success of another city program. “The paving program, which has been very successful, has helped to reduce the number of pothole calls we've received this year versus last year.”
