Buffalo braces for more lake effect snow

Buffalo road crews are preparing for more lake effect snow.

"We've had crews out 24/7 since yesterday," said Steve Stepniak, Commissioner of Public Works. "We've been throwing and plowing throughout the night, we're continuing to throw salt on these mains."

Stepniak says 30-plus crews will be working around the clock and are anticipating what could be a difficult commute for Wednesday evening.

A lake effect snow watch for the city goes into effect Wednesday at 3 p.m. and lasts until Thursday morning.

South Buffalo will likely be the hardest hit part of the city, with blowing snow becoming an issue for all parts of the metro area.
