BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The I-190 southbound lanes closed Friday morning as crews worked to clear a fatal 3-car-crash on the expressway.

Buffalo police say one person was ejected in the crash and onto the roof of the Buffalo News building around 7:00 a.m.

New York State Police say the driver was a woman in her 20s and was declared dead at the scene. She was later identified as 21-year-old Y-ara C. Rodriguez of Buffalo.

State Police say the car rolled over and hit the guard rail on the Elm Street exit ramp, flipping the car after missing her exit.

Investigators say Rodriguez was the only person in the car at the time, and was sitting on her seat belt.

The I-190 was closed at the Elm Street off-ramp while they investigated the incident.

The Route 5 eastbound ramp was also closed.

Both ramps reopened around 9:30 a.m.
