Buffalo police say one officer was injured in an crash at Genesee Street and Fillmore Avenue today. It happened just before 11:30 am.
Accident investigators say a patrol vehicle was responding to a call, heading north on Fillmore, when another car on Genesee ran a red light. The officer swerved to avoid hitting the other car and knocked over a pole.
The officer was taken to the ECMC with non-life threatening injuries.
The other driver, a 66-year-old man from Cheektowaga, was ticketed for running a red light and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.
