The Buffalo Police cell block attendant accused of beating a suspect now faces federal charges.
Prosecutors say back in May, 26-year-old Matthew Jaskula grabbed the suspect in custody from behind and shoved him face-first into a door. The force, prosecutors say, not only caused the victim to strike the door, it caused the door to fly open and the victim fell to the ground.
On Wednesday, Jaskula was indicted on one count of willful deprivation of rights under color of law resulting in bodily injury. The charges carry up to ten years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
