A 6-year-old boy drowned during a party in swimming pool in the Town of Alden Saturday evening.
Erie County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home on West Main Street just after 8 p.m.
Police say the boy was pulled from the in-ground pool and taken by an Alden EMS ambulance to Sisters of Charity Hospital, St. Joseph Campus, where he was pronounced dead.
According to police, the boy was one of over 50 guests at an outdoor retirement party. The drowning remains under investigation by Erie County Sheriff's detectives.
