A box truck crashed into a home on Central Avenue in Silver Creek just after 8 this morning.
The impact was so strong, it knocked a duplex two feet off its foundation. There's no word on what caused the crash. The driver of the truck has now been cited for speeding, unsafe lane changes and leaving a designated truck route. Investigators say the driver also hit several street signs and a tree before slamming into the home.
Silver Creek Fire tell us the driver was taken to the hospital with minor injures. Two people were upstairs at the time of the crash, they were not injured.
According to neighbors, this isn't the first crash at this intersection. In the last 18-years, people say there have been at least 20 accidents in this location.
The Mayor of Silver Creek says he's reaching out to the State DOT to get their insight on how to keep this from happening again.
