Deputies investigated a boating hit and run over the weekend on the Buffalo River.
The members of the Erie County Sheriff's Marine Unit say they smelled a strong odor of alcohol when they interviewed Robert Sciandra, the owner and operator of the suspected vessel.
Deputies say Sciandra failed a standard field sobriety test and a breath test registered a BAC level of more than 1.5 times above the legal limit.
Sciandra was arrested and charged with BWI, operating an unregistered vessel and failure to report an accient, according to officials.
The Erie County Sheriff's Office says Sciandra was issued tickets and released to a third party.
