With tons of people scrambling for good deals on Black Friday, the Niagara Falls Police is increasing its presence.

Residents and shoppers can expect an increase in border traffic, and Niagara Falls Police officers working retail crimes and directing traffic.

"As we have done in the past, the Niagara Falls Police Department is taking the precautions necessary to ensure that our streets and our shoppers are safe, especially this busy holiday weekend," said Niagara Falls Police Superintendent Bryan DalPorto. "We hope that it continues to send a message those people looking to commit a crime that it will not be tolerated in the City of Niagara Falls, and encourage shoppers to report any suspicious activity to police."
