The Buffalo Bisons sadly announced Tuesday the passing of enthusiastic Donald "The Butcher" Palmer.
"The Butcher" was a Bisons' fixture in the mid-1980s at War Memorial Stadium and helped open up Coca-Cola Field to fans during the 1988 season.
"The Butcher" made foul balls fun and entertaining for fans as he rushed out of the dugout to collect bats and baseballs.
"The Butcher was more than just a bat boy, rather a major part of the overall experience that Bisons fans had when they attended games at War Memorial Stadium," said Jonathan Dandes, President of Rich Baseball Operations. "The commitment and passion that he brought to every game made him as beloved as anyone else in a Bisons' uniform. He and his contributions to the early success of Bisons baseball will forever be missed."
